Shelter Photography - Before & Afters
I’ve been photographing shelter pets for Longmont Humane Society for 16 years and still feel the same passion now as I did when I started.
Good quality photos of shelter animals show adopters the great personalities and potential of the animals in waiting. Good photos also help to minimize the negative connotation that many people have when they think of an animal shelter. Seeing good photographs of shelter pets helps people see that that particular shelter can be a good place to visit. In other words, continually seeing good quality images on shelter websites and social channels shows the public that this shelter is actually a good place, not a sad and depressing place.
A good quality photo can get a homeless pet adopted up to 60% faster. And, that is really important to a shelter pet.
See below for some before and after photos of shelter pets that I photographraphed recently to see the difference.
