Update - The Road to Sunrise - Vintage Photo Project
Just wanted to give everyone an update on the project my husband Ray and I have bee working on for many years. If you recall, in 2009 we purchased a set of 677 vintage photo negatives set in the 1930’s and have spent much time over the last 6 years restoring the images and researching the images. The negatives are focused on a family in Coronado, CA and mining operations in what is now Joshua Tree National Park, during the 1930’s. Who are the people in the photos and how are they connected to mining? It’s part family mystery and part mining history!
I’m gonna put out a longer post on this soon, but for now wanted you to know that we have completed the project, self-published a book and tomorrow we are on our way to Coronado, CA to give an in person lecture at the Coronado Historical Association about the project. Here is a write up they did about our upcoming visit. We are so excited and we learned so much, made new friends and answered most of the questions we had about the collection. If you want to read a past post I made about this project you can read it here.
We will also update you soon on how to purchase the book if you are interested! The images are amazing, our story is pretty fun and if you like history and vintage things, you’ll love this!
Here are a few photos to hold you over!
